It seemed to gain momentum round after round. It was the first time in my life that I had so much attention. Admittedly, I was surprised by the support I received both locally and around the world. I would be no further behind by participating. I discussed it with my partner and decided I had nothing to lose. At the age of 44, I thought it would be impossible to compete with 20 year old women in an international magazine cover contest. I was very flattered to even be considered as worthy of the competition. To be truthful it was the first I had heard of it. My IG page was only up for a couple of months and Maxim sent me a message asking me if I would consider entering the Maxim Cover girl Contest. I had just started my Instagram page through the persuasion of friends and family.
